Project / Contribution (2023–2025): Implementing PRP in Gynecology
Award Category: Passion & Vision
A special recognition awarded to those physicians who have brought a unique, visionary, and impactful contribution during this period.

Project Type

The project consists of continuing education in the field of Regenerative Medicine with the implementation of PRP therapy in gynecology at Alternativa Clinic and contribution to implementation in other clinics in the Republic of Moldova. Familiarizing obstetrician-gynecologists at the clinic and doctors from Chișinău and the Republic with new efficient, non-pharmaceutical, non-surgical technologies in the therapy of gynecological conditions. Organization of seminars, presentation of PRP therapy results. Familiarizing patients with PRP therapy.

How did you get the idea?

The idea came to me as a result of participating in the Gynecological Aesthetics Course on October 17, 2019, in Bucharest, where Dr. Diana Mihai made an excellent presentation “PRP in gynecology.” I developed a desire to acquire skills to perform this innovative PRP therapy. Subsequently, I participated in the first course “Plasmolifting in gynecology,” Constanța, 2020, organized by Dr. Diana Mihai.

What inspired you?

This course, thanks to the excellence of Dr. Diana Mihai, inspired me to promote and implement PRP therapy in the Republic of Moldova.

How did you put it into practice?

I got employed at a private clinic CM Repromed to be able to implement PRP therapy. First, I used the Plasmolifting tubes donated at the Constanța course in the clinic – an opportunity to start the activity and see the effectiveness of PRP therapy. The result was amazing and the patients were satisfied. Subsequently, I convinced the clinic administration with the support of Prof. Dr. Veaceslav Moșin, president of the Human Reproduction Society of Moldova, to implement PRP therapy in gynecology and Reproductive medicine.

What obstacles did you have?

No private clinic wanted to implement PRP, arguing that they wouldn’t have patients. Lack of trust from administration and doctors in PRP effectiveness, risk of adverse reactions, we won’t have patients, unnecessary expenses from the clinic for purchasing necessary equipment.

What steps did you follow for implementation?

Collaboration with the Representative to deliver PRP tubes and everything necessary to perform the procedure (they donated the Centrifuge to us). Organization of continuing education seminars together with Prof V. Mosin within the Reproductive Medicine Society, for gynecologists with presentations “PRP in gynecology,” and offering certificates with CME credits. Medical conferences, online conferences, TV shows “Be Healthy” and Radio Moldova “Health for All.” Meetings with patients. Free consultations, promotional discounts on PRP procedures.

What impact did it have?

It was a captivating activity. The impact was beneficial, confidence appeared among doctors and patients in the effectiveness of this procedure and its harmlessness. Requests from patients appeared.

What did you learn from this process?

I acquired and perfected skills in the field of Aesthetic Gynecology, Regenerative Medicine through participation in multiple courses on “PRP in Gynecology,” “PRP in Cosmetology” in Romania, Ukraine, and Russia. I became convinced of the beneficial results of PRP therapy. I promoted and implemented PRP in clinics. At Alternativa Clinic, Prof Dr. Moșin Veaceslav performs ovarian PRP, all gynecologists perform endometrial and vaginal PRP, in cosmetology – PRP for hair, facial, neck, hands, scars.

Case Studies

All medical remedies used did not help her. Diagnosis: Stress urinary incontinence. Post-menopausal urogenital changes. 3 vaginal and para-urethral PRP procedures were performed. After 1 PRP she noticed improvement, and after the 3rd she retained urine for 3-4 hours, which allowed her to move without fear, take walks, excursions. During monitoring for 1.6 months, the effect of PRP therapy was maintained, the patient was satisfied.

Case Study 2

Patient 40 years old. Has not conceived for 5 years. Diagnosis: Secondary infertility. Internal endometriosis (treated with Sawis for 6 months). Low ovarian reserve (AMH 0.59). IVF with failure in 2021. Endometrial PRP was performed on days 7 and 21 of the menstrual cycle, and ovarian PRP on day 9 of the following cycle. She became pregnant, the pregnancy evolved physiologically.

Case Study 3

Patient 65 years old. 2024. Sought PRP for intense, constant itching, burning, dryness, local discomfort and impossibility of sexual life. Had done PRP abroad 5 years ago with such symptoms and felt well. Pharmaceutical remedies don’t help. 3 PRP procedures were performed, symptoms were eliminated even after the first session. The patient returned after 10 months, satisfied that she feels well, that she forgot about the problems she had. She wants to do another procedure to maintain her well-being and intimate comfort. She mentioned that PRP is an effective procedure, painless, does not require permanent medication administration and recommends it to menopausal women.

Recommendation Letters or Testimonials from Patients or Colleagues

More and more doctors practice PRP therapy. Patients are satisfied with PRP results and recommend this procedure.

I promoted the participation of doctors from the Republic of Moldova in the SREG Congress and in courses conducted by Dr. Diana Mihai “PRP in gynecology and CO2 Laser” in Bucharest. Respectively, if in 2019 at the Gynecological Aesthetics Course on October 17, 2019, 2 people participated, subsequently the number of participants doubles annually.
